Detained under Goondas Act

The district police have detained an accused under the Goondas Act.

On the recommendations of Superintendent of Police M. Durai, Collector T. Munusamy ordered the detention of N. Paramasivam on Tuesday, police said.

Sivaganga Taluk Inspector of Police Ponragu, on Wednesday, served the detention order on the accused, presently lodged in Madurai Central prison, police said.

The accused was arrested in connection with a robbery case and remanded in judicial custody on April 30, police said. He was also facing an attempt to murder case and two cases for causing hurt, police added.
