Constable inflicts injury on SI

May 05, 2011 12:26 am | Updated 12:26 am IST - MADURAI:

An Armed Reserve constable, Suresh, inflicted bleeding injury on a Reserve Sub-Inspector, N. Saravana Kumar, of the Mounted Branch here on Tuesday evening.

The police said that the RSI had marked Suresh absent in the attendance register on April 3. He had also complained about the irregular attendance of Suresh, following which he was transferred from the Mounted Branch to Armed Reserve.

Irked by this, Suresh came to the RSI's office and had a wordy quarrel. Suddenly, he pulled out a sickle and tried to attack Saravana Kumar. He was injured on his little finger, the police said.

Tallakulam police are on the lookout of the absconding constable.
