Charging the Left parties with adopting different yardsticks on various issues, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Saturday said that the Communists here would be happy if anyone writes against the DMK.

Replying to questions relating to an editorial in the CPI (M) organ, Theekadhir , attacking a majority of the media in West Bengal, he said the Communists always had two yardsticks, one for the States ruled by them and another for States governed by other parties.

When the DMK condemned the attitude of some newspapers and media continuously blowing out of proportion while writing about the party and its leadership, the Communists turned a blind eye, at times pouncing on the DMK itself. It would taste sweet for that party if someone wrote attacking the DMK even if the contents were utter lies and against press ethics; but it would be bitter for them if anything was written against them.
