Feasibility report on Colachel port project would be prepared in a fortnight and submitted to the government, said Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon. Radhakrishnan here on Saturday.

Inaugurating a recruitment fair organised by the Madurai chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry at S.T. Hindu College here on Saturday, the Minister said that if a port was established in Colachel, it would spur industrial development in Kanyakumari district and generate direct and indirect employment for thousands of educated youths and skilled and semi-skilled labourers.

About 4,000 youths turned up at the fair. Thirty-six companies, including HCL, Britannia, Sterlite, Flipkart and TVS, participated in the fair. K. Ramesh, State Director, Confederation of Indian Industry, was present on the occasion.
