BSP leader seeks bail

President of the State Bahujan Samaj Party and city councillor, K. Armstrong, on Tuesday filed an application in the court of the Principal Sessions Judge, P. Devadoss, here seeking bail in a case relating to a clash between two groups of students inside the Dr. Ambedkar Law College here on November 12, 2008.

In his petition, Mr. Armstrong submitted that following the clash, a case was registered for offences, including attempt to murder. He had only assisted the principal in bringing the situation under control. There was not an iota of evidence to implicate him in the case.
