M. Dineshraj (12) of Yelagiri village, a class VII student of a local government school, drowned in a pond on Saturday.
Dineshraj, along with three of his classmates, went to take bath in Theekuttai pond near Samisettipatti, when the tragedy struck. Thoppur police are investigating.
In another incident, eight-year-old Haridoss, son of Arivu of Uthangarai, a class IV student, accidentally fell in a drainage while playing with his friends on Friday evening. Uthangarai police retrieved the body and are investigating.
