K.E. Krishnamoorthy, Member of the Legislative Assembly elected from the Bargur constituency, sustained injuries on the forehead and chest in a road accident on Thursday night.
The car in which he was returning home after a function at Uthangarai rammed a parked road roller on Karappattu Road.
He was rushed to the Government Headquarters' Hospital where glass particles lodged on his forehead were removed.
He was referred to a private hospital in Bangalore for further treatment.
Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development K.P. Munusamy visited him in the hospital on Friday.
