Jointly launching an awareness programme on rail safety, the Tamil Nadu Railway Police (TRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) have appealed to the public to cooperate with them in minimising railway accidents and thefts in trains.

As part of the rail safety awareness programme launched recently following a spurt in thefts in trains, TRP Inspector (Karaikudi) M. Kalanjiyam and RPF Inspector Sanjeevi distributed pamphlets to the road users crossing Kilakarai Road railway level crossing here on Sunday.

They also stressed the importance of following safety measures at level crossings and while travelling on trains.
