Arunai Tamil Sangam announces awards

Arunai Tamil Sangam has announced their annual awards for people serving in different fields.

Anu Vennila, a retired teacher has been chosen for the Maraimalai Adigal Award meant for people who serve the Tamil language.

Chengam K. Ezhilarasi has been chosen for Dr. Muthulakshmi Award for social service and Sorakolathur Therukkoothu artist D. Devaraj has been chosen for Kalaivanar NSK Award for service to arts.

Kilnathur K. Shanmugam has been picked for Kirubananda Variyar Award for spiritual service.

The sangam’s executive met here on Saturday to select the people for the awards. Former Minister and the sangam’s president E.V. Velu presided.

The awardees would receive a citation and a cash award of Rs. 25,000 each at the function to be held at South Othavadai Street here on Monday, a release said.
