The AIADMK government is not interested in the welfare of the people. It lacks honesty and therefore it could not even be termed passable, said BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Lashing out at the ruling AIADMK, she said the R.K. Nagar by-election has only brought the administration into a standstill. However, the BJP leader hastened to add that she was not dubbing Chief Minister Jayalalithaa inefficient.
Speaking to the media after the two-day State executive meeting, Dr. Tamilisai claimed that she was not speaking generally but was reflecting on the regime after analysing its approach towards several Central government-funded development works that have remained stuck for a long time.
“Voices that rose against corruption, especially in the PWD, were throttled. It is neither healthy for the State nor for democracy,” she said.
For the past four years, the State had not witnessed any progress and therefore people doubted the existence of the government itself.
Stating that Chief Minister Jayalalithaa secured freedom due to the “prayers of her partymen” and because of certain legal procedures, the BJP chief said that Tamil Nadu also yearned for liberation.
