Minister C.Ve. Shanmugam, who handles minerals portfolio, said the court’s order signalled a victory for the Chief Minister, who has been striving for smooth supply of sand.
“It is the intention of the State government to ensure smooth supply of sand and that was why it appealed against the order of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court,” Mr. Shanmugam added.
