Will accept any post: Alagiri

January 20, 2011 12:01 am | Updated 12:01 am IST - CHENNAI:

While denying reports that he had sought a bigger role in the DMK in view of the Assembly elections, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, M.K. Alagiri, said on Wednesday that if he is given any post, he will accept it. Answering a question on whether he was keen on playing a bigger role in State politics rather than remaining a Union Minister, Mr Alagiri said he had not asked for any party position.

“But, if I am given any post I will accept it,” he told reporters at the Chennai airport. Mr. Alagiri also made it clear that he had not demanded action against former Union Minister A. Raja.

On reports of his handing over resignation letter to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, he said the question had been answered by the Chief Minister.

(Mr. Karunanidhi had denied having received any such letter.)
