Two persons killed in lightning strike

Two persons were killed after being struck by lightning here on Wednesday evening. The police said that Suresh (33) and his friend Muvendran (27) of Eachampallam village were workers. At 9 p.m., they were on the way to Seriyampatti on a two-wheeler. Due to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunder, they stopped their vehicle and took shelter at a roadside hut. But lightning struck and both died. Their bodies were taken to the Government Hospital in Palacode. The Marandahalli police registered a case.
