The second round of talks between two senior judges of the Madras High Court and the office-bearers of various Bar Associations here on Wednesday did not fructify as the six lawyers, who are on a fast-unto-death since June 9 demanding the use of Tamil in the High Court, continued their protest for the eighth day.

One of them, E. Ezhilarasu, was administered saline at a dispensary attached to the High Court Bench here.

Most of the advocates practising in the High Court Bench here abstained from court proceedings for the fourth day.

Commotion

There was some commotion at a joint general body meeting of all Bar Associations as a section of lawyers insisted on resuming work.

Nevertheless, it was resolved to continue the boycott.
