AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa removed Harbour MLA Pala. Karuppiah from all positions of the party, including the primary membership, for bringing disrepute to the party.

In a statement, Ms. Jayalalithaa said he had functioned contrary to the party’s ideology and principles and in an undignified manner and asked partymen not to have any truck with him.

According to party sources, his sacking was imminent after he publicly criticised the behaviour of Ministers and spoke about how politicians and bureaucrats were hand-in-hand in looting the public.
