Kolkata lamps enjoy patronage

A cross-section of the artisans of Kanjanayakkanpatti village say that there has been a fall in the demand for the traditional earthen lamps for the last few years due to the availability of colourful clay lamps from Kolkata in the markets here. A few traders of the city procure the lamps all the way from Kolkata and market the same here.

In varied hues

Of late, these decorated earthen lamps too have started enjoying the patronage of the housewives. There are different varieties of Kolkata lamps which have been painted with eye-catching colours to attract the customers.
