Diabetes nursing education course launched

January 22, 2017 01:15 am | Updated 01:15 am IST - CHENNAI:

Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Academy has launched a diabetes nursing education programme, a press release said.

With the explosive increase in diabetes prevalence in India — according to the International Diabetes Federation, there are nearly 70 million people living with diabetes — this course will help nurses increase their insight and acquire advanced knowledge and applied skills in diabetes management, the release said.

The course will enable nurses to apply current evidence-based management in the care of patients with diabetes and its complication. It will cover areas such as general nursing, insulin administration, assessment and management of short-term and long-term complications and nutritional management among others.
