Court submits list for judge posts

It has a strength of 51 against the sanctioned posts of 60

The Madras High Court has forwarded to the State government a list of seven persons for being appointed Judges of the High Court.

The list was sent a few days ago, according to a court official.

The High Court has now a strength of 51 as against the sanctioned strength of 60. It was in March 2009 that 14 persons were sworn in Additional Judges. In November 2009, 14 Additional Judges were sworn in Permanent Judges.
