700 pharmacies closed in Erode

Nearly 700 pharmacy wholesale and retail units remained closed in Erode.A demonstration by members of Erode District Chemists and Druggists was supported by Indian Medical Association - Tamil Nadu Branch and Federation of All Trade and Industries’ Association.

IMA - Tamil Nadu Branch Honorary State Secretary C.N. Raja, district unit president Chenniappan, president of FATIA N. Sivanesan joined the president of Erode District Chemists and Druggists Association Kaliannan in questioning the rationale behind the Central Government’s move, which, they warned, was fraught with severe consequences.

There were issues like quality, danger of purchasing outdated products, and easy access to narcotic-based drugs, Mr. Kaliannan, who had earlier served as Joint Director of Drugs Control said.

Also, there will be no way to verify tax evasion by online sellers.
