47 RDOs pledge to donate organs

As many as 47 members of Tamil Nadu Rural Development Officers Association (TNRDOA), Tiruvannamalai district chapter, took pledge to donate their organs.

Collector M. Rajendran handed over the declaration forms to persons from Christian Medical College (CMC)-Vellore, here on Monday. When asked how they initiated this drive, TNRDOA district president C. Rajagopal said “We took the organ donation pledge at our organisation day function held at Cheyyar on September-12. When we proposed the idea among our members, we never expected this number of people. The 47 persons include those who had opted to donate some or all of their vital organs”.

District Secretary S. Pari; treasurer G. Prabu; vice-presidents G. Rajaram and M. Baskaran; Joint Secretary S. Arunachalam; State Executive Member K. Manivannan; were among those present, while collector handed over the declaration forms to CMC authorities. Donor Card has been issued to all the 47 donors on behalf of CMC.
