Motorcycle-borne chain-snatchers are striking with impunity despite police stepping up vigil across the city.

A day after six women were robbed of their gold chains in various parts of the city, bike-borne men robbed four more women on Thursday morning. Three of the women were on a morning walk.

Anupriya, a resident of Jakkasandra, was on her morning walk when two men on a Bajaj Pulsar snatched her 24-gm gold chain.

The Koramangala police are investigating.

Girijamma (55), also on a morning walk, lost her 40 gm gold chain in Yelahanka.

In Bengaluru south, two men on a Bajaj Pulsar robbed 72-year-old Mariyamma of her 40 gm gold chain when she was on her way to the post office in Banashankari 2nd Stage.

Mariyamma and her daughter raised an alarm prompting a few passersby to chase the chain-snatchers, but the culprits got away. The incident took place at around 10.45 am. A case was registered in Hanumanthnagar police station.

In Girinagar, two men on a bike snatched a 53-gm gold chain worn by Subhadramma (68), while she was on her morning walk.

Senior police officers went into a huddle on Thursday following the spree of chain-snatching incidents.
