131 cases settled

As many as 131 cases were settled for Rs.41.37 lakh at the Lok Adalat held here on Saturday. In all, 1,305 cases were taken up for the adalat of which 131 were settled. As many as 21 cases of non-performing assets were settled at the Adalat.

P. Ravi, Principal District and Sessions Judge, inaugurated the adalat. Judicial officers participated and took up the proceedings.

Prizes distributed

Under the auspices of the Judicial Department, an essay competition was held in all the blocks on ‘Duties of citizens’ and winners were selected by the Education Department. S. Shantha, Chief Educational Officer, gave away the cash awards to winners in the presence of judicial officers.
