RSS meet to discuss illegal immigration

October 30, 2015 04:08 am | Updated 04:08 am IST - New Delhi:

The RSS will discuss ‘illegal immigration’ from Bangladesh to Assam in its coming national conclave at Ranchi on Friday.

Sangh insiders claim that the “threat” is grave. They say that 100 years after Independence, “foreigners” will outnumber Indians in Assam.

The trigger: a report by the one-man Upamanyu Hazarika Commission on illegal immigration from the neighbouring country. “The Hazarika Commission submitted days back says that by 2047, foreigners will outnumber Indians in Assam. The Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal will brainstorm on this,” RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Manmohan Vaidya said.

Assam also goes to the polls next year, and the issue may become politically potent.

On similar lines, the conclave will also pass a resolution on the increase of Muslim population from 13.4 per cent to 14.2 per cent in the 2011 census in India.
