“We have arrested 62 MNS supporters in Mumbai so far for rioting. Four offences have been registered in different places,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Nisar Tamboli told The Hindu on the phone on Wednesday.

Around 40 preventive arrests made were made in Pune, Anil Shidore from MNS told The Hindu .The andolan also spread to Pune, where 41 persons were arrested on Wednesday after they protested at the Urse toll naka.

Mr. Shidore said the police were being highhanded though the andolan was peaceful.
