The medical condition of former President Pranab Mukherjee remains the same and he is being treated for lung infection, the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) hospital said on Friday.

“The medical condition of Pranab Mukherjee remains same. He is being treated for lung infection and continues to be on ventilatory support. His vital parameters are being maintained and he is haemodynamically stable,” the hospital said in a statement.

On Wednesday, Mr. Mukherjee’s medical condition declined as he developed features of lung infection, which improved slightly the next day.

On August 10, Mr. Mukherjee underwent a life-saving emergency surgery for a brain clot and has since been on ventilator support. He has also tested positive for COVID-19.
