Indrani Mukerjea's driver Shyamvar Rai, accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, being taken to a court in Mumbai on Monday.

Former Star India CEO Peter Mukherjea was on Monday questioned by the police for nearly eight hours about the various properties owned by him and his wife Indrani as well as the other financial transactions made by the couple.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria, who left the Khar Police station just moments before Mr. Mukherjea, said they have formed a team of forensic auditors, chartered accountants, Income Tax officials and officers from Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) to look into these transactions.

“The team has been working on studying the various companies, the various investments and properties held by the Mukherjeas in various parts of India and also in United Kingdom and Spain.

We are also writing to various agencies to look into the various property papers and financial documents recovered from the accused,” said Mr. Maria.

The police chief added that the DNA samples have conclusively established the mother-daughter relationship between the deceased Sheena Bora and her alleged murderer Indrani Mukherjea.

He said police had taken Ms. Mukherjea's former husband and co- accused Sanjeev Khanna to Kolkata from where crucial recoveries pertaining to the case were made.

“He led us to the spot where he had recovered the shoes which were used by the accused when they went to dump the body at Pen Taluka in Raigad. We have also recovered part of jewellery belonging to Sheena Bora,” he said.
