The paper on Indian auto-mobility has interesting insights into the perception of Indians towards mobility issues in 2020.

The study revealed that the social and aspirational values of owning a vehicle is not going to be as high in 2020, while environmental awareness by preferring cycling or public transport is likely to go up among people. Attitudes towards air travel, which is high at present, may remain the same. Another positive development that the researchers predict is of higher compliance with road safety regulations. From low compliance now, they say it could increase to “medium” in 2020. Safety and security of women in public transport, which is a matter of concern in India, is also touted to increase.
