Party meet next week

February 04, 2016 11:18 pm | Updated September 02, 2016 12:05 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The Congress leadership is meeting early next week to lay out a budget for the revival of The National Herald , a historic newspaper owned by Associated Journals Limited, which became a controversy after BJP leader Subramanian Swamy filed a suit challenging the nature of its acquisition.

Though the legal battle turned more complex on Thursday with the party moving the Supreme Court, it is committed to revive the publishing house.

Speaking to The Hindu , party treasurer Motilal Vora said he was hoping that a road map would be formulated in the upcoming meeting.

“We have no concrete plan as of now but I will have a better picture by next week,” Mr. Vora said. The party is yet to finalise a timeframe.
