Pakistan troops violated the ceasefire in Jammu district on Saturday targeting Indian positions with small arms and automatic weapons, an officer said.

“Pakistan Rangers fired at Border Security Force (BSF) positions in Arnia sub-sector of the international border at 11 a.m. today (Saturday),” a senior police officer told IANS .

The officer added Pakistan Rangers used small arms and automatic weapons, while the BSF used similar calibre weapons in response.

“No casualty or damage has been reported from our side. Till last reports came in, firing exchanges were still on in the area,” the officer said.

The army is deployed on the line of control (LoC) by both countries in Jammu and Kashmir, while the BSF guards the international border on the Indian side and the Pakistan Rangers on the other.
