Pakistan’s army fired at Indian forward posts along the Line of Control in two sectors of Poonch and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, in fresh incidents of ceasefire violation.
The latest violations — the tenth and eleventh in less than a week — have come a day after a jawan was killed when Pakistani troops fired at forward posts in Poonch.
In the first violation on Wednesday, the Pakistanis fired automatic and small arms, besides mortars, in the Krishnagati and Bhimbhergali sub-sectors of Poonch from 10.40 a.m., a defence spokesman said. Indian troops retaliated.
The Pakistani Rangers resorted to firing of small arms on the Mangu Chak and Khatav border outposts in Samba district at 6.30 a.m., a BSF spokesperson said.
