Student attacks professor for stopping copying

A college student here has assaulted a Professor for objecting to copying in the examination. The report comes close on the heels of a major row over mass copying in Bihar matriculation examinations.

B.Sc. student Rahul Yadav of Bipin Bihari College beat up his teacher on March 17, the police said.

A case has been registered against Rahul, who is the president of the students’ union, and some of his friends who were involved in assaulting the teacher, Principal of the college M.M. Pandey said.

Superintendent of Police (City) Rajesh Kumar Rai said Rahul had been arrested and efforts were on to apprehend the remaining accused.

A video clip showing the students beating up the teacher went viral.
