Antony equally responsible for submarine mishap: Uddhav

February 28, 2014 04:44 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:31 pm IST - Mumbai:

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that Defence Minister A.K. Antony was equally responsible for the recent accident at the submarine INS Sindhuratna.

“The resignation of the Navy chief does not solve the problem. The Defence Minister too is equally responsible for it,” Mr. Thackeray alleged here.

He appealed to the outgoing Navy chief to come out clean on the issue of accidents in submarines. “Instead of resigning he should give a solution for it and inform the nation what is the reason behind mishaps,” he said.

Earlier, speaking at the party programme, Mr. Thackeray made it clear that the Sena’s election agenda would be against outsiders in Mumbai, who have become burden to Maharashtra and Marathi population.

“Also there are people from Bangladesh who have become voters and we always need to be alert against them,” he said. There was no change in party’s stand of of opposing outsiders, he added.
