3 killed in Neemrana hotel fire

Three persons were killed when a fire broke out in a luxury hotel at Neemrana in Alwar district early on Friday morning.

The fire broke out on the sixth floor of the Cambay Sapphire Hotel in Neemrana, close to Delhi, killing Rahul Doshi of Udaipur, Saurabh Chauhan, who worked in Faridabad, and Suhag Nath (Gurgaon).

Twenty-two other guests, including five Japanese tourists, were rescued.

The fire broke out at 3 a.m. and was brought under control after several hours with the help of five fire-tenders. The cause of the fire is not known.

PTI adds: Alwar Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar said while two of them died of suffocation, one was burnt alive.

Five Japanese tourists staying on the other floors of the hotel along with other persons were rescued, the SP said.
