Opposition parties have said that they have not yet got any invite for a meeting proposed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu in the capital on November 22.

Mr. Naidu had announced the date of meeting of all like-minded Opposition parties following his talks with Congress leader Ashok Gehlot in Amaravati last Saturday.

“So far as I know I have not received any formal invitation for the event,” CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said. Senior Congress leaders too said that so far they had no information about the meeting.

‘Informal talks on’

According to sources, the invitations have not gone out to NCP president Sharad Pawar or the Samajwadi Party too.

Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has already made it clear that she herself would not attend any such meeting and may send her representative.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) maintains that the meeting will take place as announced. “Informal talks are going on, we may change the date but for sure as the Chief Minister announced, the meeting will take place to build an anti-BJP front,” a senior TDP leader said.
