The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday saw the Opposition questioning the timing of income tax searches in Karnataka Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s residence and the resort on the outskirts of Bengaluru where Congress MLAs from Gujarat are housed.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “No searches as such took place in the resort or on the Congress MLAs. Only the Karnataka Minister was searched. He was only picked up from the resort where Congress MLAs are staying; searches are on at 39 other places.”

“The resort is not being raided. Don’t link I-T raids on Karnataka Minister to the Rajya Sabha polls in Gujarat,” he said.
