An organisation backed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has launched a mobile application to receive entries for its ‘Selfie with Gomata contest’.
Goseva Parivar, the organisation behind the contest, said that the app would make it convenient for the participants to send entries.
“When we held the contest last time in 2015, entries had to be sent by WhatsApp, which created some inconvenience for the participants and us. So, this time, with the Goseva Parivar mobile app, it will be easier for us to receive and select entries for the contest,” Lalit Agarwal, head of Goseva Parivar, told The Hindu .
The organisation also aims to spread knowledge on the benefits of cows with the help of the app. “We have built this app to spread our vision, which is ‘serving mother cow by serving humanity’,” said Avishek Pratap Singh, an organiser.
A senior RSS leader said,“Even though we are not directly involved with the contest, we ideologically support and appreciate it.”
