RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar apologise for calling Mukesh Sahni-Son of Mallah, a sadak chap (street smart). He was speaking to the media after a late-night discussion on seat-sharing with the Grand Alliance leaders. Mr. Sahni’s Vikashil Insaan Party (VIP) had recently joined the alliance. He hails from the Nishad fishermen community.
Earlier the alliance leaders met over a maach-bhat (fish and rice) luncheon hosted by Mr. Sahni to take a pledge to defeat the NDA.
“Macch-bhat khayenge, NDA ko harayenge (we’ll eat fish and rice and defeat NDA)” was the slogan supporters of Mr. Sahni raised on the occasion.
