Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s suit worn during his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama has grabbed much attention for the inscription of his name à la Egypt’s ousted President Hosni Mubarak.

Bipin Chauhan, Mr. Modi’s long-time stylist and owner of a men’s clothing store in Ahmedabad, has said that the fabric came with the Prime Minister’s name woven into it.

“I have stitched the suit, but the name was not embroidered. It was a woollen fabric with the name already woven into it. We got the fabric with the name,” Mr. Chauhan told The Hindu .

Mr. Chauhan is also the man behind the popular Modi kurta earning Mr. Modi compliments for his style.
