Mutation of Vadra land deals cancelled

January 04, 2015 02:13 am | Updated 02:13 am IST - JAIPUR:

The Rajasthan government nullified the mutation of land deals with Skylite Hospitality, a company owned by Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, and has taken over the land.

Skylite Hospitality had purchased the land in Gajner and Goylari villages in Koyalat tehsil of Bikaner district in January 2010. Confirming the cancellation of the deal, a senior official said that an enquiry was on.

It is alleged that a total of 360 hectares of land was bought by Mr. Vadra’s company in violation of the Rajasthan Land Ceiling Act but, subsequently sold off to dozens of individuals at a huge profit. The land was reportedly allotted to people “displaced” by a proposed firing range in 2006-07.
