Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a witty congratulatory message for his British counterpart David Cameron on his re-election. On Friday, after the Conservatives swept to election victory, and Mr. Cameron was re-elected to the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Modi tweeted: “Congratulations @David_Cameron. As you rightly pointed out- its "Phir Ek Baar, Cameron Sarkar!" My best wishes.”

Mr. Cameron during his campaign had extensively reached out to the British voters of Asian origin, even using Hindi words to woo the voters. In response to a TV Channel on what his message was to the Hindi-speaking voters in the UK, he had quipped, "Phir Ek Baar Cameron Sarkar (another term for the Cameron government).

The Conservatives victory also has another Indian connection, Rishi Sunak, a 34-year-old Oxford and Stanford graduate, who contested from the party’s ticket, has won in North Yorkshire’s Richmond. Mr. Sunak is the son-in-law of Infosys co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy.
