A person was arrested for allegedly beating his mother to death here, police said on Sunday.
The police in Satwari area received information that a woman identified as Rani, a resident of Narwal Pain, was murdered by her son after consuming liquor, a police officer said.
The son, identified as Mohammad Altaf, used to force his mother to consume liquor and then used to assault her, he said.
Head injuries
On July 15, Altaf again forced his mother to consume liquor and started beating her, due to which she received serious head injuries and rupture of internal organ. She died on the spot, the officer said quoting the post-mortem report.
A case was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigations led to the arrest of the accused on Saturday, he said.
