August 14, 2012 02:38 am | Updated November 17, 2021 05:07 am IST - MUMBAI:

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad secured the custody of key Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal in the Aurangabad arms haul case, on Monday.

“We have got his custody today. But we will have to produce him in the special MCOCA [Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act] court on Tuesday for remand,” ATS chief Rakesh Maria told The Hindu on Monday.

Earlier in the day, the Mumbai Crime Branch told the local court that it did not need Jundal’s custody anymore. He was being interrogated by the Crime Branch for his role in the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai.
