YC flays IUML, KC(M)

May 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - ALAPPUZHA:

The Alappuzha parliamentary constituency conference of the Indian Youth Congress has criticised the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and the Kerala Congress (M) for “portraying the UDF government in bad light”.

In its political resolution, the Youth Congress, in a veiled reference to the two parties, accused the parties of being “impudent, haughty, and nepotistic”.

It stated that the broadmindedness shown by the Congress at various instances must not be mistaken as surrender before the constituent parties. It would do the parties a world of good to realise that it would be impossible to remain in power without the support of the Congress.

At the same time, the resolution called upon the parties to emulate the coalition activities of the Janata Dal (United), “which had crucial influence in the political scenario of Malabar.”

The conference concluded on Monday.
