Webcasting in 20 booths in Alappuzha

Webcasting facility will be arranged in 20 highly sensitive polling booths in the district.

The voting booths have been selected from 316 sensitive booths in the district, according to District Electoral Officer and Collector N. Padmakumar.

The voting procedures, which will be webcast in the 20 booths, could be watched in real time by the Election Commission officials.

The booths

The polling booths where webcasting will be done include three in Harippad municipality, 11 in Kainakary grama panchayat, and two each in Thazhakkara, Nooranad Edappon, and Adikkattukulangara North.

The District Collector has also asked Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited officials to establish facilities including internet connectivity at the highly sensitive booths where webcasting will be done.

Uninterrupted power

Mr. Padmakumar has also directed the Kerala State Electricity Board officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the booths on the polling day and at the counting centres on the counting day.
