Mukul Wasnik stresses the importance of attracting youngsters to the party.

Mukul Wasnik, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in charge of Kerala, has told local Congress leaders here that the party leadership would not tolerate violation of party discipline.

Addressing a gathering of Congress leaders in the district as part of the one-to-one meetings with party’s grassroots leaders on political and organisational matters here on Tuesday, Mr. Wasnik said that any show of indiscipline in the party would weaken it. He also stressed the importance of attracting the young generation to the party.

The AICC general secretary said that secularism and social justice being upheld the party should be highlighted in the political activities of Congress workers.

The AICC was holding interactions with local leaders of the Congress to get feedback and opinion from the grassroots on political and organisational matters.

Stating that the interaction programme was being held as part of the AICC leadership’s initiative to equip the Congress workers to confront the challenges before the party, Mr. Wasnik said that the AICC would chalk out an action plan for strengthening the party.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee State president V.M. Sudheeran in his address said that the working plan, to be prepared by the party leadership, would reflect the views and suggestions of local leaders.
