Vigilance probe into functioning of KUHS

The Thrissur Vigilance Court on Tuesday ordered an investigation into the allegations of irregularities in the functioning of the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).

On a petition filed by social activist Joy Kaitharath, Inquiry Commissioner and Special Judge V. Jayaram asked the Vigilance Director to carry out an investigation into the alleged irregularities in utilisation of funds, appointment of staff and affiliation process of colleges under the KUHS.

The accused in the case are K. Mohandas, Vice-Chancellor of the KUHS; Pro Vice-Chancellor P. Ratnakaran, and Registrar V. Ipe Varghese.

The court asked the Vigilance Director to submit the investigation report before November 15.
