The police on Thursday registered a case against six persons for allegedly blocking a van carrying three cows at Mallappally town.

Circle Inspector K.Salim said the van carrying cows from Ezhumattoor to Nedungadappally was forcibly stopped in the afternoon. The group asked the driver not to transport the animals together.

Though the driver told them that the cows were bought from houses for rearing, the group forcibly removed two cows from the vehicle.

The suspects were said to be BJP workers, the police said.
