The United Democratic Front leadership said here on Wednesday that the Opposition would continue its agitations demanding the resignation of Transport Minister Thomas Chandy.

The decision to seek legal opinion on the Collector’s report was intended to protect him.

A UDF delegation which conducted an on-the-spot study on the controversial areas was convinced about the gross violation committed by Mr. Chandy, Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala said.

He sought to know whether it was the Revenue Minister or Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) P.H. Kurien, who had taken a divergent stand on the issue of seeking action against Mr. Chandy, who was calling the shots in the department.

“The Chief Minister’s stand on Mr. Chandy’s resignation was amoral. We will continue the agitation for the Minister’s resignation,” he said.
