A 52-year-old man was arrested on Saturday on the charge of sexually abusing his minor daughter. His minor son was also arrested on the same charge.
The duo, residing at Azad Nagar in Mogral Puthur village, were arrested under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and produced before the district sessions court, specially constituted to try sexual offences on minors.
While the man was remanded in judicial custody till November 5, the boy was shifted to the juvenile home at Paravanadukkam, the police said.
A complaint lodged by Childline before the Town police station here said the girl was subjected to sexual abuse by the two at their residence.
Her relatives took up the matter with Childline, which in turn approached the police.
