TKM engg students join KSEB initiative

While efforts are on to restore power supply in flood-hit areas, the students of TKM College of Engineering too have joined Mission Reconnect, a task force launched by Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) for the purpose. It’s the students, alumni, faculty members and staff of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering who have come forward to be part of the initiative. With the help of experts from the Electrical Inspectorate, KSEB and IEEE, they will be now help flood-affected people in Kuttanad and Chengannur.

The college team, led by department head Bijuna Kunju is currently targeting a minimum of 400-plus temporary electrical connection boards. This board will be used to connect electrical supply from the KSEB service main board, replacing the already damaged wiring of the houses.

The college has also raised a fund for this with the alumni members contributing to it. The contribution has touched ₹6 lakh and it will be used to provide individual units costing around ₹2,000.
